FAQ

Questions about the no-commission model.

You really don’t charge commission per booking?

Correct. Never. What you invoice for a booking reaches your account without passing through us. Our revenue is exclusively the fixed monthly fee of your plan.

What about hidden fees (email, SMS, payments)?

Mass email goes out through your own SMTP with a restaurant mailbox (Gmail Workspace, Microsoft 365, IONOS, your own server…), with no quota imposed by Reserver — your provider sets the cap. SMS is billed via a separate prepaid SMSUp bundle (from €9 for 100 SMS) — you’d pay that with any provider. Stripe payments carry the standard Stripe fee (1.4% + €0.25 in EU), identical to using Stripe directly.

Why do other platforms charge commission?

Because they bring you customers. Their value is acquisition: millions of app users find your restaurant. The commission pays for that service. Reserver doesn’t bring acquisition — it brings the system. Different model, not necessarily better or worse: depends on what you need.

At what volume does Reserver become profitable?

Against TheFork at €3/cover + extras, break-even is ~35 bookings/month (assuming 2.5 covers/booking average). Any higher volume saves money.

Can I negotiate TheFork down?

Hard. TheFork has standardised rates by segment and country; only large groups (10+ venues) get custom terms. For independent restaurants and small groups, the effective commission is fixed.
